Research Activities - Dr. Detlef Selent

Scientific and technical experiences

  • homogeneous catalysis, with emphasis on reactions of olefins catalyzed by transition metal complexes
  • chemistry of phosphorus, preparation, characterisation  of P(III) compounds
  • organometallic chemistry of the d-elements
  • development of in-situ analytical methodology for reactions with pressurized gaseous substrates

Present main research activities

  • isomerization and  hydroformylation of olefins
  • preparation of phosphorus ligands, evaluation in catalysis and study of the reactivity of  P-based cocatalysts within the coordination sphere of transition elements
  • application and further development of in-situ high pressure (HP)-NMR and in-situ HP-FTIR spectroscopy
