The implementation of gender equality at LIKAT plays a steadily growing role in the development of the institute. Thus, the equal opportunity policy at LIKAT has been successfully integrated and institutionalized within the last few years, binding rules apply and the equal opportunity officer and her deputy are regularly elected. In close cooperation with the institute's board, an equal opportunity plan was drawn up for the first time in 2007, which is adapted to current developments every four years.
As a member of the Leibniz Association, LIKAT has committed itself to having its efforts to reconcile family and career certified and successfully applied for the TOTAL E-QUALITY predicate for the first time in 2011. The predicate is valid for three years at a time and certifies the sponsors' successful and sustainable commitment to equal opportunities for women and men at work (http://www.total-e-quality.de/).
In 2020, LIKAT was awarded the Total E-Quality predicate for the fourth time in a row for the years 2020 to 2022.
