2. Collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of the processing

As a matter of principle, you can visit the LIKAT website without telling us who you are. All we find out is the name of your Internet service provider, the website from which you are visiting us and the pages of our website that you view. This information is analyzed for statistical purposes. You, the individual user, remain anonymous. For technical purposes, the following information is transmitted and stored until its automated deletion:

  • IP-adress of the enquiring device
  • Date and time of the request
  • Name and URL of the requested file(s)
  • URL of the referrer
  • The browser used, and, should the occasion arise, the operation system of your device and the name of your access provider

The aforementioned data are collected for the following purposes:

  • To provide a smooth access to our website
  • To provide a comfortable use of our website
  • Analysis of our system security and stability
  • For further administrative purposes

The basis for the processing is Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interests result from the aforementioned purposes of the data collection. We will not use the collected data to draw conclusions about your person. Cookies are not set. 

3. Who receives or might receive my data?

The data that are collected on one of our web pages ("Formular für Antrag auf Alumni-Mitgliedschaft") are provided by you voluntarily and knowingly for the designated purposes only and are used by us solely for the handling of your request. Your data will be processed, stored and transmitted only for the indicated purpose. The data can be accessed by processors, who carry out the technical service of our home page on our behalf. No further personal data is collected, used, passed on or exported to countries outside the EEA. Additional data protection information is provided on the alumni pages.

4. Use of other services

External links

To provide you with optimal information, our website contains links to third-party sites. Insofar as links of this kind are not obviously recognisable, we point out that they are external links. The LIKAT has no influence on the content and design of other providers’ websites. Therefore, the guarantees in this data protection statement naturally do not apply to those sites

5. What are my rights concerning the protection of my personal data?

Every data subject has the right of access under Art. 15 GDPR, the right to rectification under Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’) under Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing under Art. 18 GDPR and the right to data portability under Art. 20 GDPR.

The right of access and the right to erasure may be restricted according to §§ 34 and 35 BDSG (German Data Protection Law).

Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority according to Art. 77 GDPR, in connection with § 19 BDSG. Information regarding your right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
